Definitions:
Bandwidth:
is the capacity of the communications channel, there is also kilobits, megabits, and gigabits.
Bit:
short for binary digit, is the smallest unit of electronic data.
Bits Per Second:
(bps) the bandwidth of an Internet connection.
Fiber-optic loop:
is a dedicated, high-speed telephone line that uses fiber-optic cable with TI or other fiber-optic technology.
GMS/GPRS:
(Global System for Mobile Communications and General Packet Radio Service) card can be installed in a computer. Allows the computer to connect automatically to a cellular phone network without using the cellphone.
